Independent journalist and commentator Michael O’Connor joins RTÉ’s ‘The Agenda’ to discuss how to stop President Donald Trump from being re-elected.
The US President has already been elected twice before and was re-nominated in 2020.
He won re-election in November by a landslide, but this time it was far more difficult.
The new President has won over voters in key swing states, such as Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Nevada, Iowa and Michigan, and he is expected to win in all of them.
Independent journalist and broadcaster Michael O ‘O’Connor, who is an editor-in-chief of the Independent newspaper, says the people who support him are in the majority, but he says the President will need to appeal to many more people.
O’ Connor said the voters are not going to want a President who is trying to make a mockery of the rule of law.
He said that if the people of the country believe that the rule was broken, that was enough for them.
But he also said that he does not believe the American people want a ‘President Trump’.
He said the President is trying and that he has been successful.
He said the American public want change, and this is why he is leading the fight.
I am hopeful that he will be re-appointed and I am hoping that the voters of this country will take notice of that and not give him any more power, he added.
