A Florida political consultant and former top donor who worked with Florida Gov.
Rick Scott and Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio is joining the ranks of former presidential contenders in Florida.
Chris Leventhal, who ran Florida’s Republican Party for five years, will join a newly formed political consulting firm, the Palm Beach Post reported.
Leventhals previous work includes a stint as a top bundler for Rubio’s 2016 presidential campaign, and he worked for Rubio during his unsuccessful Senate run.
Scott’s office did not immediately respond to the Post’s request for comment.
Rubio’s office, meanwhile, declined to comment on the hiring.
The political consultant was paid $2,000 to $3,000 per hour in 2015, according to Florida records, the Post reported, citing records obtained by the Orlando Sentinel.
Levenhal also served as a fundraiser for Scott’s 2016 campaign.
Leventhal’s past work with Scott included helping him win re-election in 2014 and 2016, according the Orlando Sun Sentinel.
The Florida Republican Party has spent more than $1.3 million on fundraising, the newspaper reported.
Levenhal did not respond to requests for comment sent to his firm’s Florida office.
